Glacier National Park June 2014

We went up to Glacier for a quick weekend. My sister's family was there as well and so we had fun with them. The Going-To-The-Sun road was not open yet, but we enjoyed hanging out around Lake MacDonald.

Lake MacDonald

We came across several red buses parked together. Owen wanted his picture taken with them.

He loves to spot them driving on the road. Someday we will take a ride in one.

He kept posing by them and asking for more pictures :)

Beach time

Ellie was able to kayak by herself this year. She was really good at paddling and maneuvering her kayak. Owen was a little concerned about her and kept trying to keep hold of the kayak as she practiced in the shallow water.

Owen and Grayson giving Ellie a push off.

Away she goes.....

Such a beautiful spot to kayak.

Owen's turn. He was pretty good at paddling too.

Here they come.....

Ellie heading back out again.

Beautiful Lake! Beautiful Day!

The next day we drove around to the side of the lake and went for a little hike.

There were tons of caterpillars all over int he National Park. I discovered these large clumps of them. The kids thought it was so cool.

Owen with his caterpillar boat. They would put a caterpillar on it and then send it off into the water. Then it would float back to the shore and they would rescue the caterpillar.

Ellie, Kadence and Owen playing.

Ellie in the water.

Owen is a little observer......here he is checking something out on the trail.
