4th of July Fireworks

This year the kids have been saving thier money and doing lots of extra chores to earn money for fireworks. They were soooo excited to finally go to a fireworks stand. They picked a couple of day things like a a parachute and a ribbons firework. Their night ones consisted of a few fountains and firecrackers. The night of the 4th we stayed up late and just sat in the grass in our front yard and watched all the fireworks in the valley. We were able to see the really large city fireworks as well. Owen began calling all fireworks that went up into the air "city" fireworks. It was cute because he kept asking if the next one we were going to light off was going to be a "city" one. Grace stayed up and enjoyed the fireworks as well. She was excited to watch and all the noise did not seem to bother her.

Getting ready to light off a parachute.

Got it!

Pretty Ellie watching for the ribbons.

She caught them.

Lighting a little snake.

Smoke bombs! My kids love smoke bombs and they enjoy running about in the colored smoke :)

This is fun!

Owen and Grace waiting for the "city" fireworks.

Watching a fountain.

Everyone getting more excited because it is darker out now.

The following night we did sparklers. The kids had just had baths and were in jammies.
