Bannack Days 2014

We recently went to Bannack State Park for Bannack Days. Bannack is an old Ghost town a couple of hours from here. Once a year it comes alive with all kinds of demonstrations, interactive displays and fun activities. The kids always love going. Last year there was a flash flood through the town site one week before Bannack Days so it was cancelled. We were excited to go this year since we missed last  year.

Each year there is a man with his personal collection of Lewis and Clark Expedition items. This year he also had a bunch of surveying tools. The kids thought it was fun to look through them. (I had told them not to touch .....only look hence the weird no touching position Ellie is in :)

Merry Go Round!

This year there were some people there doing trail rides. The kids were so excited to ride the horses. Ellie was glad they gave her a paint horse.

Ellie was able to ride without help, but the trail guy gave her his horse because they were short one and so some of the time he had to guide the horse so it knew where to go.

Owen had fun riding by himself. He was so pleased that he was able to do it.
