The other evening we decided to go down to the nearby river and let Ellie throw some rocks in the water and do a bit of exploring. The glacial rivers up her here are braided( that means they choose new channels every year so there is lots of bare rocky areas form previous years). This rocky river area is lots of fun to go down on and explore. The surrounding mountains are also quite beautiful.

The Chugach mountain range.

Pioneer Peak in the background.

A fistful of rocks. Ellie sure picked up fast on how to throw rocks in handfuls :)

Finding rocks to throw.

Looking for a good throwing spot.

Ellie sure likes the water even though it is icy cold.

She likes to walk "on" water too.

Testing out the depth :)

Bye Bye!

I'm surprised she was throwing the rocks...my guess would have been that she would have stuffed as many as she could in her pockets. You are certainly in a beautiful area. Thanks for the cool pic's.
