(Ellie in mid sentence of "Ellie language")
At 18 months old Ellie.......
* ate her first corn on the cob.
* helped Daddy light off a few fireworks. She liked the popper gun.
* climbed onto the couch for the first time with no help.
* received the first quilt Mommy ever made.
* ate a bite of dog food before Daddy could stop her.....then carried around another piece of dog food trying to hide it from us.
* said "elp" while playing at the park. She wanted help getting down from a climber toy.
* initiated to wave at Tom and say "bye bye Dada".
* played with play dough.
* on July 29th finger painted her first four masterpieces to send to her grandparents then decided to paint her face.
* can say "eyes" and point to eyes.
* will get really excited if we say "let's go outside". She will run to the door and sometimes try to say "oughsie".
* said "ay Dada" an the phone to Tom.
* will take little scraps or whatever little lint like things she finds on the floor and put them in the garbage.
* said the Russian word "nyet"(no) to her babysitter who speaks Russian.
* discovered she can walk backwards.
* helped Tom push the wheel barrow to load rocks.
* discovered her shorts had pockets and ensued to walk around with her hands in the pockets.
* rode her first carousal ride.
* still loves to carry around her baby doll and always makes sure the blanket is not far.
* still carries around any kind of bag or bucket to put treasures in ( at one point she has had five strung up one arm).
* loves to get tickled and kissed.

The days go by so quickly.... thanks for sharing your journal of pictures and thoughts with us. Ellie is very blessed to have you and Tom as her parents.
And I love being her grandma.
