Spring in here!!!!! The snow is melting and the mud has appeared. In Alaska Spring is 'fondly' called Mud Season. As you can see from the pictures, Ellie is prepared. She has her nice brown overalls and new rubber boots.

Ellie absolutely loves Kijik. Every time we come outside she waves at him and if she could walk through the deep mud to get to him she would. She tried to go a little ways and then lost a boot in the mud so we moved her back to the more level ground. I guess rubber boots are kind of tricky to walk in when you are just learning to walk :)

Carharts, boots, snow, Husky, Kijik, mud, dyed eggs, shovel, rock. What kind of a culture is this? How would you describe the meaning of these words to someone in the Southern Hemisphere?? ..... a strange culture it is!!
