Thailand Trip

This Fall we were blessed to be able to finally go to Thailand to visit my Parents who are missionaries there. The kids and i were gone 5 1/2 weeks and Tom was able to join us for two weeks.

What follows is a ton of pictures for those who are interested in seeing our adventures. The pictures are curtsey of my Mom since right now my computer is in the shop and I don't have access to any of mine.

We were able to visit many interesting and old "Wats" (Buddist Temples). Thie above one is on the mountaintop above the city of Chiang Mai.

The Chiang Mai Zoo was lots of fun. Owen and Ellie loved the Elephants and the panda bears were so active and doing all kinds of cool things during our visit. I think we stood and watched them for about 30 minutes.

The kids had a lot of fun at my parents house on the days we just hung out there. They have all kinds of neat trees and plants. Owen and Ellie made a little tree house under the banana trees.

We had the opportunity to go watch an elephant show and have an elephant ride. The kids loved it and had fun feeding the elephant bananas.

The elephants are trained to do paintings. Ellie thought they were so neat. Owen liked to spot and say hi to babies wherever we went.

The monkey show was quite interesting. Monkeys really are clever little animals. Owen was not too sure about the monkey when he came up and touched his foot.

We were also able to visit some awesome restaurants and gardens. The Satsinlip Restaurant had a little pool with elephant statues all around. The kids thought it was pretty neat. I enjoyed visiting several orchid gardens. orchids are such beautiful flowers. I have some lovely new orchid pictures now.  Ellie was excited about going to visit an umbrella factory. it is so neat to go to all these places and see the people make so many beautiful items. There is so much talent in the handcrafts.
