We are now the proud caretakers of 6 chickens. There are 5 hens and one small rooster. The hens are 1 Dark Brahma, 1 Red Star, 2 Rhode Island Reds, 1 Americana, and the Rooster is a Silkie Bearded D'uccle.
They are all super friendly and even Owen has warmed up to them and will try and catch one to pet it.
It is Ellie's chore to take care of them. She does a great job of watching over them, feeding them and collecting eggs.

The little "chicken farmers" seem to be doing well with the hens and rooster. Sure is nice to be able to eat fresh eggs each week too, not to forget the great learner tool they have in caring for them as well. We enjoyed watching the set up process in getting the fence and coop up and seeing the chickens arrive. Fun memories!
