Owen ~ 22 Months Old

January 17th flew by with the busyness of unpacking and getting settled in our new home. Owen is growing up so fast and I can hardly believe that he is nearly 2. I don't want to miss his 22 month old update since it is the only place i am jotting down things about Owen. I have not updated his baby book at all :(. Anyway our little boy is learning all kinds of new things and changing so fast. He has a sweet, ornery personality. It is funny to see him gain independence and new skills and how exciting that is to him. A few things about Owen at 22 months old are.......

* he now sleeps in his own room . The first few nights he really missed Ellie and didn't sleep as well, but he has adjusted and does good now.
* he enjoys working on his board puzzles and can figure some of them out.
* he always wants to sit together with Ellie in teh rocking chair and read books together.
* he will follow Ellie's example and try to do pretty much anything she is doing ....good or bad.
* a he can now say quite a few words. We have to remind him to use words and not just a whiny sound when he wants something. If we say a phrase he will try to repeat it.
* he really likes to spot horses, cows and dogs while we are driving. At our new home he sees lots of them and when he spots them he will point and squeal out the name. Cow, Hoo (horse), dog.
* he has learned to drink out of a big cup.
* he always wants to hold our hand when we are out on a walk.
* he will apologize to Ellie with a hug and a "sowee" when he has done something naughty.
* he does not like nursery at the new church and will cry and sob for mommy so I stay with him until he can adjust to new people/places.
* he calls Kijik "keygee" and will say come and no pretty well to him. We were on a walk recently and some dogs were jumping on their fence and barking at us. Owen looks over at them and says sternly "NO!" expecting them to stop barking and calm down like Kijik.
* he still loves to eat cheese. It is so funny every time we walk through the cheese section at the grocery store he gets excited and points and squals, "chee, cheee".
* he likes to ride his wooden rocking horse and play with his "rumblin' chuck truck".
* he loves trains like his sister Ellie. He will point out Thomas train in books and say "tomee tain".
* he is still very attached to "baankkkk", which is what he calls his blanket. Right now it is one of three special afghans, though the favorite one is still the blue and one one.
* he can count to four all by himself.
* He loves his little piano and likes to take it to bed with him to play at night. He calls is "pan-ooo".


I am sorry I have no pictures again for this post. We have been so busy getting settled in that I have not really taken many good pictures. Maybe I will add some later.
