Owen ~ 18 Months Old

Owen is already 18 months old and to keep with his little blog/journal/baby book I am doing another monthly post. I am also including picture that I took of him today. The fall leaves are to beautiful that I could not resist taking his 18 month old picture outside in them. So here are Owens pictures and tidbits about him at 18 months old.........

* weighs 24 lbs 1oz and is 31.75 inches tall. This puts him in the 30th percentile.

* he can now stack 8 square blocks and 4 of Ellie's narrow Keva Plank blocks. He is actually verg good at fine motor skills and is quite adept as doing intricate small things.

* can say many words now and will attempt to copy most words we tell him. A few things he says are, ah done(all done), moom(moon), mine, da(dog), duck, quack, titer(sticker), Gaga(grandma), bye bye, nigh nigh(night night), eye, noo(nose), tickle tickle and more....

* when we tell Owen that it is time to pray he will put down whatever he has in his hands and fold them together. He will even bow his head and close his eyes. When we say Amen, he will say "men" for Amen. 

* went on a long trip to Montana and met his Great Grandma Geiger. he loved to smile and wave to people in the nursing home where she was. he made lots of new friends there.

* loves to have Ellie in the bedroom with him when he goes to sleep. 

* loves to follow Ellie around and play with whatever she is playing with.

* still really likes to color and draw. Mommy helped him watercolor, but he was more interested in dipping the paint brush in and out of the water cup.

 

 * likes to look at books and be read to. He enjoys pointing out things he sees in the pictures, like eyes, trains and trucks.

* was not really happy about sitting in big leaf pile and mostly gave me frowns except for when Ellie did silly stuff with the leaves then he laughed and thought she was funny. I got one good picture with a big smile as a result.

* still like to stop and smell the flowers whenever we see them.

* enjoys cuddles and tolerates Mommy kisses. Most times when I ask him for a kiss he shakes his head no and gets a silly grin. He gets kisses anyway...little stinker. It is sweet though when he gives kisses back.

* he loves to wave bye bye to people and will do it top pretty much anyone always including a big grin.

We are so thankful for our sweet boy and treasure each new thing he accomplishes and enjoy watching him learn and experience new things.
